Greetings and salutations readers!
This week's entry is a bit of a briefer entry, as I spent more time working on other classwork and smaller projects within the production. Over the course of the past couple of days, I made further revisions to the zoom in shot for our intro sequence. It is a faster pacing and has a nice framing trajectory into North America. At some point there must have been an error and too much rotation was added to the camera, so I will need to refine frames 360-400 on the zoom in portion. I intend to make a near final pass of this camera for our upcoming production pass on Friday so that the entire cohort can see it more. I will attach the re-rendered final version next update.
The other part of my week I spent working on some more modeling details of the gas station set, and then I prepped the different assets for Unreal Engine 5.3.0. I spent one afternoon making sure that all the computers in our normal room had 5.3.0, and then I merged objects down, renamed, and exported FBXs into our UE Project folders. An oversight of mine was that I didn't put export materials on all the different parts of the set, so I will likely need to re-export and remove old textures from the Maya scene so that the texture flow into Unreal doesn't become cluttered.
As always, I appreciate reading my updates about this project, and look forward to sharing more in the future!
